Furuno FAP-3000 Autopilot - Online training
This course will provide you with the required knowledge of the functionality and effective use of the Furuno FAP-3000.
Based on the requirements of the STCW CODE, Table A-II/1 and Chapter VIII, Standards regarding watchkeeping, Section A-VIII/2, Part 4-1 - Principles to be observed in keeping navigational watch, paragraph 36.
Training is performed 100 % online, and you can train anywhere, anytime, at your own pace. The course material is presented in a video format and includes dynamic animations and illustrations.
Relevant for: This course is a requirement for Masters, Chief Mates, and Officers in charge of a navigational watch on board ships.
Could also be relevant for anyone interested in how to operate bridge instruments. This could include Ship Managers, Technical Superintendents, Technical Staff, Marine Engineers, shore-based personnel, yachtsmen; etc.
Course content:
Basic functionality of the Furuno FAP-3000 Autopilot.
Training covers chapter 6 in the IMO Model Course 1.32 Operational Use of Integrated Bridge Systems (IBS) including Integrated Navigation System (INS).
Duration: This online training course can be taken at your own pace, with the possibility to enter and exit the course as often as you require. Estimated time: 30 minutes. You have 90 days to complete your training course counting from the day your license key is activated on the platform.
Training documentation: The training course includes continuous testing (multiple-choice tests after each lesson), eliminating the need for a final, conclusive test. When you have passed all tests, a certificate will be generated and issued on the NavSkills™ Online platform.
Technical requirements for online training: A stable internet connection.
