FURUNO ECDIS Training
Type specific training course
Provides the trainee with basic knowledge of the functionality and effective use of the FURUNO ECDIS*. Complies with the STCW Code, table A-II/1, A-II/2 and A-II/3. Relevant for Navigators operating FURUNO ECDIS today or are planning to do so in the future.

Successful completion of a 10 days instructor training course. By documenting proven experience with ECDIS use and as an instructor, it could be considered reduced to fewer days of extensive training based on an individual assessment.
Instructor training content:
Covers advanced operation of the FURUNO FMD ECDIS, combined with the principles of teaching and instructing trainees in English, in a classroom environment. The theory is extensively practised through exercises, where the instructor candidates will take the role of the instructor.
One genuine and updated FURUNO FMD ECDIS workstation and control panel available per trainee in the classroom (maximum eight trainees per course).
(Opportunity to add FAR-3000 chart radar, when in ECDIS mode).
Equipment with adequate sensor input to operate the ECDIS units and with related ENC charts licenses covering exercise areas.
Entry fee: EUR 5000**, covering the training and certification of two instructors. Additional instructors cost EUR 3000. If two or more instructor trainees are booked for the same time slot, the price is reduced to EUR 2500** per instructor.
Subscription fee (yearly): EUR 5000**, covering up to 30 trainees per year, local periodical audit by an FURUNO Maritime Training assessor, FURUNO FMD ECDIS software updates, and instructor support.
Training fee: EUR 100 per trainee, after the initial 30 trainees (charged monthly).
**Expenses covering travel, accommodation and meals related to the above are not included in the fees. Equipment required, ENC chart licenses, local installation and service agreements are not included but are available on request.
